2. Stash
Stash helps users with micro-investing, giving you more control over where and how you put your money to work. Like most investing apps, Stash offers exchange-traded options that let you set how much risk you’re willing to take. For larger accounts, they’ll charge you a .25% annual fee.
3. Digit
This app links with your checking account to analyze your spending, then make small transfers to help build your savings. Unlike a lot of other apps, it doesn’t round up your transactions to the nearest dollar. Instead, it calculates how much it saves depending on each month’s spending. $33 at the pet store? $78 at the grocery store? Whatever it is, this app tracks your habits. Your first 100 days are free; after that there is a $2.99/mo service fee. However, the savings account gives you a 1% annual savings bonus if you save for 3 months in a row.
4. Long Game Savings
If you like to play games on your phone, you might as well boost your savings while you’re at it, right? This works a little bit like a lottery game, but instead of spending money and getting nothing in return, you earn chances to win the game based on your savings habits. Saving money actually earns you coins that let you play the games. There’s a .1$ APY, and the app always protects your principal.
