Everyone loves money giving–and receiving! But giving cash tends to come with a stigma that you didn’t put any thought into the gift. You can easily dispel that notion by making your money gift giving more fun. Presentation is everything!
Try your hand at origami! There are a ton of ways to fold a single bill, no matter the denomination. (Unfolding it to discover what it is can be part of the fun!). Little kids will love getting an animal folded from money, and that’s only part of what you can fold an American bill into. Chocolates are a delicious gift–but what if you eat the chocolate yourself? Do it, and then fill the empty spots with various forms of money. Wrap it back up, and you’ve got a gift even Forrest Gump would appreciate.
Roll that bill up like the paper that holds a bouquet of flowers. Then stick some pretty flowers inside to make your money gift a little more special. If you use fresh flowers, wrap the stems in plastic before slipping them inside your money bouquet to protect the bill(s). Or use some silk or paper flowers instead. Optional: tie a ribbon around the outside to hold everything together and to add a little decoration to the gift.
Slip the cash you intend to give away into a small jar. Add a themed label and adornment to complete the look. For a wedding gift, a bride and groom figurine could be glued to the lid, and labeled “for the new Mr. and Mrs.” Or you can create something similar to the jar seen in the above picture. There are a lot of ways to make this idea work for your specific money gift needs. Just use your imagination!
Holidays can guide your money giving presentation; a monetary gift doesn’t have to be thoughtless or unsentimental with these ideas. At Christmastime, pick up small stockings from Dollar Tree to house your money gifts to family and friends. At Eastertime, plastic eggs are an option. You get the idea!
Have fun with your money giving, and your recipients will too!
