Here at Voila Moola, we’re all about helping you save money. One way to do that is by knowing the things you should reuse {but most people throw out}. “Reduce, reuse, recycle” is becoming somewhat cliched, but it’s still true! Reusing everything you can saves you money in the process.
5 Things You Should Reuse
It might not seem like such a big deal, but how many scraps leftover from every bar of soap have you thrown away? Depending on the size of your household, it’s quite a bit. How do you reuse those slivers of soap? Pretty easily, actually. One way is to collect those slivers inside a mesh bag, and use the bag as a self-lathering loofah.
Plastic grocery bags are a big item on the list, but still there are a lot of people who throw them away. One way I like to reuse them is to donate them to groups who remake them by weaving them into sleeping mats for the homeless.
You should reuse your tea bags! During the summer, stash your used tea bags in the refrigerator. When you have an itchy bug bite or itchy, allergy eyes, use a chilled tea bag to soothe the itch. Or feed your garden by tossing the bags in your compost bin.
This one seems to be a no-brainer, but still lots of people throw glass jars away. The ways to reuse a glass jar are pretty much innumerable. They’re great for organization or for food storage. If you do need to get rid of some, make sure they make it into your recycling bin.
How many old CDs do you have laying around? These are easy to reuse! Hang them in your garden during the summer to deter deer and pests. The reflection is what scares them away! You can also reuse them as coasters, and they’re easy to cover with fabric, ribbon, photos or washi tape. Get creative!
So, have you been throwing away any of these 5 things? See if you can find ways to reuse these and other things that are just clogging up the landfill. In return, you get more bang for your buck! And make sure you aren’t wasting food scraps to save even more.
