How to Vacation if You Have Debt

Just because you have debt doesn’t mean you can’t go on a vacation. After all, you probably need a break even more if you’re worried about money. As long as you do it the right way, you can take a fun trip without putting your financial situation at risk. Here’s how.

1. Do it Affordably

If you’re worried about debt, the best kind of vacation you can take is one you can afford. There are plenty of ways to make travel more affordable. From making your vacation a “staycation” at a nearby hotel with local attractions, to camping and quick road trips, you can still get away without spending a ton.

And when it comes to accommodations, you’ll likely save money booking your stay through Airbnb, rather than through a traditional hotel.

2. Don’t Add Debt

When you’re worried about money or already in debt, the last thing you need is a vacation that actually adds financial stress. Instead, find a way to finance your vacation without going deeper in debt. Limit your spending to money you actually have in your bank account. You’ll be creating a lot of good memories on your trip, and the last thing you need is to come home with those memories tainted because of the extra debt.

One potential exception is learning how to use your credit card — wisely — to take a vacation you can afford without actually incurring more debt. These travel hacks can help you manage your trip spending while earning and using perks along the way.

Whatever you do, budget, budget budget! Don’t ruin your vacation by bogging your finances down even more. Now go enjoy your trip!

3. Book Through Sandals Beach Vacation

Looking to save even MORE money? Book it through Sandals Beach Vacation to save SERIOUS money. They’re running incredible rates on their vacation packages!
