You might think that you save money just by walking in the door at Wal-Mart, and that’s true. But did you know there are some generally unknown tips & tricks for shopping at Wal-Mart? It’s true! Today I’m going to share with you 10 ways to save money at Wal-Mart.

  1. Most Walmart stores have a clearance aisle that is loaded with bargains as much as 70-90% off the original price. With savings like that, it pays to take the time to check it for anything you are in need of. If you shop from this aisle, you’re sure to save money at Wal-Mart.
  2. Be familiar with Walmart rollbacks. Rollbacks are how Walmart lowers prices, and you’ll typically find them in displays and on the endcaps of aisles. Items under rollback will usually be there anywhere from 30-60 days before they return to the regular price. Paying attention to rollbacks will definitely help you save money at Wal-Mart.
  3. If you didn’t already know that Walmart matches other stores’ prices, you do now! This is one of the best things about shopping there. If you find a better competitor price on an item either before, during or after you purchase it at Walmart, show your receipt and Walmart will match the price or refund the difference. Price matching even includes meat and produce. Don’t be afraid to use it! This could help you save money at Wal-Mart– and a lot of it!
  4. To help you price match much quicker and easier, install the Savings Catcher app on your smartphone. Just scan your receipts and if the app locates a lower price at another store, Walmart will automatically refund you the difference.
  5. The butchers in Walmart’s meat department have a routine they follow when they discount their meat. You can even ask them what day they usually have meat markdowns, and they will tell you. Most Walmart stores discount their meats in the morning, so it can pay to shop first thing.
  6. There aren’t many stores that will allow you to keep the overage when you have coupons that total more than the item price, but Walmart does. Take advantage of this!
  7. You can get free samples on a variety of different items Walmart sells just by visiting the website. Free samples are frequently offered, so if you pay attention you can snag some for yourself.
  8. Join Walmart’s social media pages, such as Twitter and Facebook. They offer deals there that don’t get offered anywhere else.
  9. Shop online at Walmart for special deals that are not offered in the store. Find something you like and have it shipped free to your local Walmart where you can pick it up.
  10. Are you aware that Walmart offers great deals on refurbished electronics? They do, and don’t be afraid of them. They’ve been completely refurbished and certified, and carry similar warranties to the brand new versions. The savings can be amazing on these items!
