You Can Get Paid for Making Healthy Decisions

January 2, 2018 by Hailey Harris Leave a Comment

Okay people. New Year’s is coming up, and you know what that means: resolutions. We all have goals that we strive for throughout the year, but it seems like the New Year is the perfect time to go after those health goals. We’ve just come through the holidays, with its parties and abundant treats, and it’s time to buckle down at the gym. But do you think more people would stick with their exercise regimens if they actually got paid for working out? Uh, yeah! Here are some apps that actually pay you to stay acquainted with the E-word.

1. DietBet

This app helps you track your weight loss and be accountable. It also lets you set up contests with others. For a small fee, you can compete against friends or strangers to lose a certain percentage of your body weight by a specific date. All the winners split the entry fees.

2. Healthy Wage

Healthy Wage is much like DietBet. You get paid for winning challenges, but the focus is more on user-created challenges with people they know. Companies can also create a corporate challenge. Users can join up to 10 contests at once, or make personal challenges for themselves. Your earnings grow as you refer friends.

3. WellCoin

WellCoin earns you rewards points for healthy habits. Whether it’s staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, or making time for yoga, you’ll earn WellCoins for it. Coins can be redeemed for healthy foods, workout gear, or fitness classes.

4. PACT

Download PACT, and you’ll be held accountable for your diet and exercise habits. Using this app, you’ll be able to form pacts with yourself every week to eat healthier and get more exercise. Once you have your own pacts in place, you can decide how much you’ll pay other PACT members if you don’t fulfill them. But if you do, you’ll get paid by other members who don’t. You can also sync this app with others like MapMyRun, FitBit, RunKeeper, or MyFitnessPal.
